WHY DIETS DON'T WORK

If diets worked, surely anyone who’s ever been on one would still be at their ideal weight, right? Instead, diets have an almost 100% failure rate, because the longest time anyone can ever stay on a diet is six short weeks. Diets are almost always about deprivation. Whenever you feel deprived your primal coding of the mind kicks in – ‘deprivation=death’ to the mind. As your mind’s primary purpose is to keep you alive on the planet, it will do everything in its power to stop the effects of this deprivation.

 

Diets also fail because they only work with willpower which forms part of the conscious mind. The conscious mind only has a 5% impact on your behaviour. The only way you can ever succeed at changing your weight is by really wanting to do it and then working with the subconscious mind, which controls 95% of our behaviour, to ‘rewire’ the associated beliefs that got you to this point. This can only be done in hypnotherapy.

WHY HYPNOTHERAPY WORKS FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Like many, you may feel skeptical due to the inaccurate stereotypes that have been created around what a hypnotist does or is capable of doing. However, hypnotherapy has nothing to do with being made to jump or chomp like a bunny. Hypnotherapy is the process of you telling yourself how you want (or choose) to be, and how you want (or choose) to live, whether it is to sleep better, lose weight, or quit a habit.

 

Early studies have shown that people who used hypnosis lost more than twice as much weight as those who dieted without the therapy. A study in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis found women who underwent Hypno-behavioral therapy lost weight, improved their eating habits, and improved their body image. At the same time, a meta-analysis by British researchers found hypnosis can help regulate the release of peptides that control how hungry and full you feel.
